GRADE 8 ELA
All Grade 8 students will be writing an in-class exam on essay writing. This is a timed exercise (5 classes are allowed for the writing process). If a student is absent for any of the following scheduled classes, it is his/her responsibility to come make up that time during lunch hour. No other class time will be given.

Students are currently working on our Lit Circle unit. They are responsible for reading the novel, holding their thinking with post-its, expanding on that thinking on their journaling sheets, completing an evaluation sheet after each meeting, and various assignments (pink character web worksheet, blue character sketch sheet/white character sketch graphic organizer, white plot line assignment). Post-its are completed during reading. At the end of each chapter, students expand on the post-its and explain their thinking fully on the journaling sheets. The journaling sheets MUST be finished before their group meetings.
All Lit Circle assignments are due May 21st.
